Money coverIf money (for example cash or gift tokens) or non-negotiable money (for example, crossed cheques) is damaged or stolen, it may not be covered under your contents insurance. Money insurance can cover loss of cash and non-negotiable money from your business premises, in transit, and from your and your employees’ homes. The circumstances under which you’ll be covered are often quite specific, so it’s important to check your policy‘s terms carefully to see exactly what you’ll be covered for.

Some examplesYou run a bike shop. Two of your members of staff are taking cash to the bank at the end of the day when they are robbed. You lose a day’s takings. An employee leaves their jacket behind the till at work. At the end of the day they find that their wallet, and all their cash, has been stolen from the jacket. Your office is robbed and cash, cheques and banker’s orders are stolen from the safe.
Important notes!Your policy will state important security and cash carrying conditions. Make sure that you comply with them - otherwise your claims may not be paid.
Our policies do not cover shortages due to clerical or accounting errors or losses from unattended vehicles.
