Assault coverIf your business deals in cash or has valuable stock, equipment or other assets, it could be the target for burglary. And, unfortunately, with the risk of burglary comes a personal risk to you and your staff. Assault insurance provides compensation to you or your staff for injuries received during a violent assault.
Who needs assault cover? The retail sector is perhaps most vulnerable to assault, and where staff are most at risk of being involved. Working in a shop where goods are on display, where cash is kept on the premises and where staff carry takings to the bank can be risky. The risks, however, also apply to other sectors. Office and factory workers, delivery drivers and salesmen can all be at risk of violent assault.
Our assault coverAll of our policies include assault insurance as standard.
Some examplesYou run a bicycle shop. Two members of staff are robbed while carrying the day’s takings to the bank. One of them is knocked unconscious and is off work for three weeks while recovering. Your van driver is robbed while making a delivery. He is knocked to the ground and breaks his wrist. He can’t work for 6 weeks. You run a betting shop and acid is thrown at one of your employees, causing them to lose the sight in one eye. There is a permanent loss of sight in this eye.
