The FSA is the independent watchdog that regulates financial services. FirstAssist Insurance Services Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

Our Firm Reference Number is 310671 and our permitted business is advising, arranging, dealing in and the administration and performance of non-investment insurance contracts.

Our product range

We are only able to offer you our own range of personal accident, travel, protection and legal expenses insurance policies underwritten by Great Lakes Reinsurance (UK) PLC.

The service that you will receive from us

We can only provide you with information about our own product range and you will not receive advice or a recommendation from us in connection with your insurance product requirements. We may ask some questions to narrow down the level and extent of cover that you require. You will then need to make your own choice about how to proceed.

Premiums

Premiums quoted are inclusive of IPT at the current rate which is 5%. You will be advised of any other fees relating to any particular insurance policy. Premium payments accepted by us are held as an agent of the insurer.

Complaints

If you wish to notify us of a complaint regarding your purchase of any of our insurance products please contact us either by writing to the Customer Relations Department, FirstAssist, 1 Drake Circus, Plymouth PL1 1QH or by ringing us on 0845 758 5775 (Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm). If you cannot settle your complaint with us, you may be entitled to refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Financial Services Compensation Scheme

FirstAssist Insurance Services Limited is a member of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim. Insurance advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the first £2,000 and 90% of the remainder of the claim, without any upper limit. Further information about compensation scheme arrangements is available from the FSCS.
